Welcome to the ultimate Marathon experience in Solwezi!

In 2023, the Kansanshi Marathon made history as the first ever mining company in Zambia to host a marathon. With over 1100 participants in our inaugural event, we also set the bar high as the first Zambian marathon to be world accredited in the North-West Province.

We were delighted to attract participants from countries such as Kenya, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, making this a truly international event and we look forward to seeing the event grow each year. The event will feature ZAAA and World Athletics accredited 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km run races.

In 2023 our event recorded the fastest half marathon ever seen on Zambian soil! This event is also a qualifier for the 2025 edition of the Comrades Marathon.

2024 hosted a total of 1600 runners from 22 different countries!
